Friday Cover Up - Chipdirge

This has been doing the rounds on the ol webz so you have probably heard this, but I can't get over how amazing Sludgefest is. Brian Borchardt of Holy Fuck fame has grabbed some of the classic tracks that were covered by the 'classic' cartoon brainbleeders Alvin & the Chipmunks, and slowed it right down so that the anthropomorphed rodents sounds somewhat human - and the results are extraordinary, giving us a dirty post-punk on heroin renditions of the likes of The Bangles, Pat Benatar and Belinda Carlisle. This SHOULD be an actual band, because I haven't heard reappropriated renditions so iconic, unique and stunning as this for ages. And the most recent version is Tom Petty's 'Refugee', which I could envision Liam Kenny doing - yep, that good. Melt the sugar right dooooooooooooooooooown.
